Superman - Concept Art From Scrapped Brett Ratner Superman Film

Wow! Now this is something that I would have loooooved to see in Superman Returns. But NO, they just had to bring back Lex Luthor AGAIN and then make Superman face off against a giant kryptonian landmass that he hurls into space...FUCKING LAME!!!!

What you're seeing below is concept art from a Superman film that never got made. It had a script written by J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Alias, Mission: Impossible 3, Cloverfield) and Brett Ratner onboard as director before the project was scrapped way back in the mid-90's!!!!! (sigh) what a crying shame.

This is supposedly a Kryptonian robot called a "Rouser" that, I assume, is spewing out kryptonite in a sort of plasmic form. This is something that would have been freaking amazing in a Superman movie! The person who designed this said that when Brett Ratner left production McG (Charlie's Angels, Terminator Salvation) was going to direct and Owen Patterson, known for his work on The Matrix trilogy, was going to do set designs. Man, a lot of famous people were apparently involved with this project.
